Preventive Maintenance Shop |
Matt Smidt - Foreman
As with any preventative maintenance program, the goals are to extend asset life, reduce asset downtime and life-cycle costs and minimize "emergency and urgent" repairs. OverviewThe DPS program consists of cyclic maintenance activities, including inspection and repetitive activities with the largest concentration currently being inspections. Future plans include predictive and proactive tasks. In August of 2002, over 10,400 assets were added to the CMMS for use in Facility Planning and the Preventative Maintenance Program. Included in this number are over 1,400 additional assets the Maintenance Shops requested to be added specifically for the PM Program. New repair work noted at the time of the PM task is entered by the PM crew as a new work order, and will be issued to the appropriate shop for action. |
